Cultural Practice Acknowledgment and Disclaimer

Indigenous Cultural Knowledge

Apotropaic acknowledges that traditional smoking ceremonies, songlines, and specific Aboriginal cultural practices are the intellectual and cultural property of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Traditional Custodians.

The founder has worked collaboratively with Indigenous elders and knowledge holders across multiple regions of Western Australia, including the North West, Pilbara, Peel, and South Coast areas, learning principles of land-based energy work and cultural approaches to spiritual protection. This learning relationship was conducted with permission and appropriate cultural protocols, involved remuneration and recognition of cultural knowledge holders, and focused on understanding principles rather than appropriating specific ceremonial practices.

Scope of Practice

Apotropaic does not perform traditional Aboriginal smoking ceremonies or claim to conduct ceremonies on behalf of any Aboriginal community. When engaging with culturally significant energies:

  • The practitioner offers spiritual cleansing using smoke as part of general apotropaic practices, using appropriate native botanicals where legally and culturally appropriate
  • This spiritual cleansing is distinct from traditional Aboriginal smoking ceremonies, which are only performed by authorized Aboriginal cultural elders
  • Songlines and specific cultural knowledge are respected as belonging to particular mobs and are not disclosed, recorded, or taught without explicit permission
  • Where Indigenous spiritual presence is identified or matters require traditional Aboriginal ceremony, immediate referral to appropriate Aboriginal cultural elders or corporations is provided
  • All work respects the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural protocols

Collaboration and Referral

Apotropaic maintains established relationships with Aboriginal corporations and cultural organizations for appropriate referral of matters requiring:

  • Traditional smoking ceremonies
  • Specific cultural knowledge or songlines
  • Matters beyond the practitioner's cultural knowledge or capabilities

For all referrals:

  • Clients are connected directly with appropriate Aboriginal cultural practitioners or elders
  • Remuneration for cultural services follows community protocols and is arranged directly with knowledge holders
  • Apotropaic does not intermediate or profit from cultural services provided by Aboriginal Elders

All services provided by Apotropaic are for spiritual, energetic, and wellness purposes only:

  • Energy healing, tarot readings, and environmental clearings are not substitutes for medical, psychiatric, or psychological treatment
  • Clients with serious medical conditions, mental health diagnoses, or psychological concerns are advised to consult licensed healthcare professionals
  • Apotropaic practitioners do not diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions
  • Services may complement but do not replace the need to seek the opinion of traditional medical care

Age Restrictions

  • Services for clients under 18 years of age require parent or guardian consent and presence
  • Working with Children Check clearance is maintained by the practitioner
  • Services for minors focus on education and general wellness and will not progress further than sound healing

Results and Outcomes

  • Apotropaic does not guarantee specific results from any service or product
  • Spiritual and energetic work is subjective and individual results vary
  • Testimonials and case studies represent individual experiences and are not indicative of guaranteed outcomes
  • Environmental cleansings address energetic imbalances but do not guarantee resolution of structural, electrical, or physical issues in properties

  • Native plants sourced in accordance with environmental regulations and cultural protocols

Crystals and Charms

  • Crystals are natural products with variations in size, color, and energy properties
  • Descriptions of crystal properties are based on traditional metaphysical beliefs and scientific claims
  • Choking hazard - small items not suitable for children under 3 years

Spell Jars and Educational Materials

  • For educational and spiritual development purposes only
  • Results depend on individual practice and belief
  • Not substitutes for professional advice or intervention

Consumer Law Compliance

Apotropaic operates in compliance with the Australian Consumer Law:

  • All products meet consumer guarantees for safety and quality
  • Services provided with due care and skill
  • Refund and return policy available for defective products
  • No misleading or deceptive claims regarding product efficacy
  • Pricing transparent and inclusive of GST where applicable

Jurisdiction and Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Western Australia.
